Air Force and Army Football Games

As Navy2010 pointed out…it is definitely possible for a greeting before the game! Plebers-to-be, especially ones from warm areas…buy hand and foot warmers, they are worth every cent…I was never issued them, but they are relatively cheap to buy in the Mid Store.

Also, if you get the chance to go to USAFA for the Navy/AF game…go! You probably won’t see it any other time unless you go on exchange. I didn’t go my plebe year, but I did my 2/C year. I think the USNA administration would support going to USAFA for the football game. As a 2/C, I went on the USNA MO and didn’t pay for absolutely one thing!!! We took a Navy C-9 to Colorado Springs from Andrews, slept in the dorms at USAFA, and missed Friday classes (this probably wouldn’t happen under this administration). I am glad that I went and my host (3rd Degree) and I shared stories/experiences and how their daily life differed from mine. I also saw three of my companymates on exchange. It was a worthwhile 3 days…especially since we won!

Let me add…it was completely free…so that was a bonus. There were other MO’s that allowed MIDN to provide their own transportation, but I think it was a hassle because most flew into Denver, then had to find transportation to Colorado Springs, and lodging. I believe there was a small reimbursement for those MOs. The down side to flying in a C-9 was traveling in SDBs…but that definitely outweighed the cost.

So if you get the chance and you are willing to pay or it’s free, take it!
Also, there are a handful of events that allow MIDN to go to West Point and I would recommend going to at least one…even if you have to go in uniform!
