airline bait and switch?

Decided to check out our flights on Delta for our April travel.

D had no seat at all (row 20L–there is no L) poof her carefully picked seat was gone and thank goodness I did catch it now.
Delta had put H and I in a middle and window when we had booked two aisles–changed that also but now we are very far apart on the plane.
Delta has cancelled their noon flight the day we fly from PDX to JFK and only offer the 6 a.m.
Delta has changed our flight from Milan to JFK so now we are just 2 hours to get through lines and make it to our domestic flight from JFK to PDX. I doubt that we will make it even with just carry ons.

I checked prices and have not been cheated but really? This is what we get for making our plans too far ahead --that much is clear. Made plans in Oct to fly in April–mainly for the $ and for the choice of seats. But what is the point if they are going to lose seats/change them from an aisle to a middle seat? Ridiculous and now I no longer like Delta.
I will make every effort to never book them again.

I am down to Jet Blue, American, and Southwestern and Alaska.

sorry Oregon…I agree that it’s a pain to book in advance…and then always have to watch to see if your flight or seats get switched.

On another Delta note, you may be able to get some points from them if your luggage is late…

hi again,
gosmom–Alaska now has the same. I think it is a nice change. We did put bags on Alaska last month for $50!!.As H was ill.
First time in 15 years we have needed to put a bag through. Shocked at the $ but at least they are owning their part of the responsibility.

I’m flying from Hartford to Cleveland. im flying Southwest…and hoping for no major issues.

Last week, we went to Tulum. Our original flight was at 6:45 a.m. which was early enough. SW changed it to 5:45…we had to leave our house at 3:30 a.m. which meant getting up at 2:30…it was a LONG travel day.

My flights this week are in the middle of the day!

Well, Delta has changed our flight again. I am confused now and need to go into our account and print the current itinerary. I need to count how many changes but I think all legs are up to 3 changes each. Need to watch the seats like a hawk as somehow they think a middle and window are equivalent to two aisle seats.

Did get our TSA clearance which is nice.

Delta did it again today!!! Changed another non-stop flight to a connecting flight, this time via an airport WAY out of the path. This is the second time in a month, and 4 times in the last 4 months, that they’ve changed our flights from non stops to connections! Ok, I should know the routine by now, and give up, but since they’re the only airline with a non-stop on our route (at least sometimes), that does not give us much choice, if we want to try for a non-stop. However, I do want the “world to know” what now seems like their standard practice.

kjofkw,
I read the fine print and if they changed your flight more than an hour they will rebook you or something.
Of course that does not help if they eliminated your flight as they did one of ours. We still have a non-stop but leaving at 6 a.m. instead of noon.

I would keep checking and see if they still have a non-stop.
Also! I went in and looked at one ways and roundtrips and different options were offerred.

I hope you call and make them tell you that your sometimes non-stop is not flying when you booked.
I do like that you can leave a number and they do call back.

I will try to never ever fly Delta again.

ARGGG — Delta changed the second of my flights, but not my husband’s… then they moved our first flight later, so that he only has a 20 minute connection. The website says to call to change this. I am now on my 3rd call to Delta- the wait time was over 2 hours the second time I called, so I gave up. I am now up to one hour and 10 minutes on HOLD, on the preferred Skymiles phone number. OUTRAGEOUS!!! They have changed these flights so many times…!

Have you reached a number where they call you back?
I used it 2-3 times and they called within 30 minutes.
Sorry but do not remember if you are domestic or international.

Goodluck
I I’ll say that once we got On the plane they did actually run a calm and friendly service.
