Aleksey Vayner

Mr. Vayner has broken his silence, talking to the NY Post and doing a full interview with the NY Times:

<a href=“VIDEO RESUME LEAK HAS YALIE CRYING FOUL”>VIDEO RESUME LEAK HAS YALIE CRYING FOUL;

<a href=“DealBook - The New York Times”>DealBook - The New York Times;

He’s completely unapologetic about his lies and has gone on the offensive, with his lawyer, about the alleged leak of his resume from UBS. (“Mr. Vayner and his lawyer, Mr. Stueben, confirmed that they are exploring legal options against the investment banks to which he sent the application.”)

How come I can’t read Yale Daily News articles online? Instead of the text a “Casal Media” add appears.

I suppose it was only a matter of time before we saw a parody on YouTube. It’s reasonably well done. “Even Vayner”:

hey! that guy in the parody is andy… he graduated last year. Quite a talented guy, actually, though that clip could be funnier

nice…very nice

So the NYTimes article said that he’s not at Yale for the rest of the semester. Has he taken a leave of absence? Has Yale kicked him off-campus? I’m confused because the same article says he’s about to tackle midterms – so is he attending, and just commuting when necessary to New Haven? Also, is he a junior or senior? He says he’s a senior, but Yale records have him as a junior, I read somewhere. And finally, is he simply going to get away with all of this? Embarrassment is his only punishment?

Is it life imitating art or art imitating life?

From today’s NY Times - apparently Morgan Stanley is participating in something called the “Pursuit of Happyness” internship contest. You submit a video and the top two vote-getters win an internship in Morgan Stanley’s global wealth management division. Perhaps Aleksey should enter this one.
