<p>Several years ago when I was attending Ohio State we had a serial criminal on our hands who literally terrorized the area for a week or two. There were armed robberies and, sadly, two murders. Maybe not so surprisingly, it was all carried out by one person, a former student even:</p>

<p>I remember the sense of relief that came over the entire campus after an arrest was made, though it couldn’t erase the loss of two young people.</p>
<p>I don’t recall any of the victims engaging in activity that would be considered risky. They were just sitting in their apartments studying or watching TV.</p>
