Allergic to hair dye - has anyone else experienced this?

I just got back from getting my hair…dyed…and am waiting for the allergic reaction to happen…or not!

^^Take a benadryl. Worst case scenario, you’ll fall asleep and forget you’re worrying about a reaction :).

Thumper --tell me more about Style Edit–does it come in more than one formulation? How long does it last?

This is it. They also make a spray but it find it annoying no hard to use. This poweder just dabs on with the foam applicator. Available through Amazon.

@thumper1 , I just ordered StyleEdit. I really need to get my hair done but my stylist is a friend who works out of her home once a week. So scheduling can be tough if I have other things going on. I’m counting on StyleEdit getting me through a couple more weeks.

Think Im going to try the Style Edit too. Counting on you thumper!

Style edit is awesome!

It was delivered just as a party was starting over the weekend and I applied it using the little mirror in the compact as I stood in the kitchen. Lol. So easy!

Then today I had a sick kid and no time to fuss, but I was able to apply it to the white areas around my face to make myself more presentable in seconds.

It’s so amazing. Much less severe looking than the spray I used before, which would go through to my scalp and make me look like I was wearing a cheap wig. It’s easy to control so it goes only where you need it to.

I’ve used the Bumble and Bumble Color Stick as well as Madison Reed Root Touch-up. Both work well in terms of providing coverage. I find the B&B stick to be a little easier to use. It’s basically like a crayon whereas the Madison Reed product is a compact with a brush. I would be curious to try to the Style Edit as I think the sponge applicator would be better than the Madison Reed brush, but probably not enough to warrant the purchase.

@adlgel

I’ve tried the other types of root touch up applicators…and I think this little sponge applicator is the best one.

No…I don’t own stock in Style Edit.

I already have a powder root touch up that came with a brush and while I like it a lot it takes a while to get the application right. So after reading about the foam applicator I used a make up sponge instead of the brush. Voila!
Works MUCH better!
