Hey, i got in aswell yesterday. Northeastern was a backup though, so thereās still a long way to go.

My stats:

SAT I Math: 720
SAT I Critical Reading: 610
SAT I Writing: 680
TOEFL iBT: 106

ECs:
Too many to list here, a lot of social work though.

Im studying at a private school in Pakistan. Transcript had a good mixture of Bs and Cs.

Essay: Extremely kickass. As stupid as this may sound, its about me being short and how i learnt so much from it.
Recommendations: Both are well-written. One of my teachers bothered to write more than a page and a half.

jayme: No, Iām not a transfer. High school senior. RD.

amraa_kaze: Thatās exactly what I said to myself. I was really wondering why I was receiving an admission decision so early when I had applied RD. Were you accepted?

Hanita: Yes I am an international student from France. Well I have American citizenship but I have never lived there nor have any American relatives so I consider myself an International Student even though I understand that some schools donāt. And I actually have heard from another school that I applied to. Where are you from if I may ask?

sweettka: I do not think calling is necessary. As you can see, the school will notify you if it has come to a decision.

alohaman: Welcome to the club. haha.

scarsx: The school notified me by email that my admission decision was available on their website. I still have not received the letter of application. And I believe Iām āofficiallyā in. Never heard of being āunofficiallyā in a school.

njc722: Decent grades, SAT scores, and essay. Strong ECs and (hopefully) recs.

MrSmee44: I highly doubt that since I am technically not considered an āinternational student.ā

okay so i wasnāt the only one lol
i randomly went on and it said i was accepted
australian/korean international i am
but it doesnāt say anythign about merit aid
so i prob wont be able to go

this made me angry when i was accepted, you find out though an e-mail⦠gee, that takes all the fun out of getting the letter and stuff. and then they say, if you are accepted, that you can print off the letter, its a pdf, for saving or something dumb like that⦠ridiculous, this school is too dependent on computers

A fellow classmate of mine was also accepted today.

Dafoitz: Yes, it does seem that only internationals were accepted to this point.
redsox: Haha, yes I agree. Did kill the fun. But I will say, tip of the hat for preserving the environment. Itās always nice to get a letter but there goes our forestsāā¦

amra kazee: Need to go check if I get any merit aid. Did you have apply for it?

Im lucky? **** no. Northeasternās pretty good, but it isnāt such an exceptional university. Its got an acceptance rate of 35%. I think my stats were way above average for the engineering school. Besides, anyone whoās paying will get in. :]

2010 in SATs
transcript with Bs and Cs
an essay about being short
doesnāt sound too appealing to meā¦youād only get into a tier 2 or tier 3 school with those stats so donāt get too dissapointed when you get rejected from top schools
no offense but your stats are in no way above average especially for engineering schools
an acceptance rate of 35% is bad?
its ranked 4th for most number of applications with only 2800 seats available
so i donāt think its easy for people even if they pay the full amount with no financial aid

No, lje62. I dont think that way but with the current economic crunch, i do take it into consideration. And Red Glory, i got in the Viterbi School of Engineering of University of Southern California yesterday. Have you heard of it before? Well if not, iād like to enlighten you. Its only the 7th best Engineering college in the entire country, compared to Northeasternās 65th best. If you still think my essay about being short, my amazing british examination results, my transcript with Bs and Cs and a good number of As, might i add, my 2010 in SAT 1 and my 790 in mathII and 730 in Physics are only good enough for Tier2 and Tier3 schools, well, sucks to be you. :P

waleed: first of all i couldnāt care less about the engineering school of either school
im a business majorā¦northeastern has a top 30 business school plus the amazing co ops
funny how your transcript changes from Bās and Cās to āa good number of Aāsā in a matter of a few weeksā¦you really expect me to believe you? donāt be naive.
for all i know your prolly lying about your acceptance into USC
2010 is not a SAT great scoreā¦so get over yourself

and if you think northeastern is easy to get into with the current economic situationā¦why is it receiving 34,000 apps for a class of 2,800?
why are they predicting an even lower acceptance rate?
please explain.

You said i was average. Im just trying to prove im not, neither am i lucky. Top 30? Not top 10? Sad. You dont have any other option apart from being happy with your AVERAGE course. A good number of As means a total of atleast 3 As in my 9 subjects every year. My sat score doesnt matter anymore, does it? Iāve gotten into USC and itās my dream college. Actually, now that youāve made me realize, itāll take me some time to get over myself now. :P

And the economic crisis has got nothing to do with application numbers. Its got more to do with less financial aid and a greater number of students with money getting accepted. The acceptance rate falls every year because the total number of graduating high school seniors applying to college increases every year due to larger class sizes. :] Dumbass, and youāre already in college.
