I am really shocked at several of these posts claiming that diet has nothing to do with grades. That’s so incorrect. I won’t even bother trying to link the dozens of studies that show that diet plays a huge role in learning. If you fill your body with junk, your brain doesn’t like it for all kinds of reasons. There should be no surprise at all that people who have healthy diets perform better in all aspects, and that includes studying. Fill your body with crud, your life will be crud. Maybe not today, but it doesn’t take long. If you have seen Morgan Spurlock’s film Supersize Me, you will understand why. 30 days was all it took. This is not a big mystery. You are what you eat.
I never mentioned what I like for soda and fast food on this thread. For soda, Mountain Dew is my favorite and big red is my second favorite. For Fast Food, I like five guys burgers and fries, White Castle, Taco Bell, Fazoli’s, Chick fil a, and Popeyes. For pizza I like Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, Little ceasers, and many places that offer deep dish pizza. If I ever go out west, I definitely want to try In-N-Out Burger.
I would like to see a single randomized control trial that found eating unhealthy lowered college GPA.
Better than getting drunk and doing drugs.
In all honesty, like what others said, don’t put blame on other things.
You can’t have “picked” a worse diet than that IMO. First these companies compete based on price, so you’re getting products in/on your food supplied by the lowest bidder. Yum. And while we’ve learned fat isn’t always a bad thing, burgers are typically 20% bad fat. And bread, cheese and oil aren’t (pizza) exactly top quality ingredients either. Just more bad fat and bad carbs.
