am I a shoe in?

Well some people are a shoo-in for Penn- if you’re Evan O’Dorney or IMO caliber, then you can probably get into Penn with a one sentence essay. But these people have Harvard as a safety as well.

Just wanting to echo some of the others who have posted here; nobody is a “shoe-in” for acceptance. Your stats, though great, are typical at schools like Penn. It is important to have strong essays and recommendations to show the school the person behind the numbers.

Unless if you’re applying ED, double legacy, double minority, perfect test scores/GPA, captain of several sports, president of several clubs, major internships/work experience, ect., then no, you are not a shoe-in.

I think you have a good shot if u write a great essay

Nah, you’re a shoo-out. (Considering your spelling issues.)

JUST KIDDING, you have great stats dude. If you have equally compelling ECs, perhaps you’ll have a chance. But Penn is NEVER a safety, your GC must have meant Penn State.

Unless you go to an ivy-league prep school in NYC or Exeter (and the like) you’re not a “shoo-in” (funny word lol)

Now if you were indeed from a NYC prep school or elite boarding school, you would definitely be an extremely competitive applicant for not only UPenn but for HYP.

And what are your extracurriculars…? No school wants some kid who can sit around and get A’s and perfect test scores but doesn’t contribute one bit to their school environment or appear to have any passion for the subjects they seem to effortlessly learn.
