^We get SO many reports that it’s hard to keep up with acting on them. Getting back to the reporter would be really hard.
We can assure you that every one IS dealt with. Whichever moderator looks at a report makes a note as to the action taken. If a post is not edited or deleted, it’s because the moderating team felt like it wasn’t a TOS violation. Just because a post is annoying or inaccurate is not enough reason to delete it, for example.
Yes, that is very fair. I think I was just viewing it as feeling like talking to an empty room. It’s a weird feeling for me. But that’s my issue and I can definitely see from a mod’s point of view, and prioritizing what is really needed, that it’s not necessary to message a response to someone.
The other issue is that people tend to want to argue with us if we don’t take the action they wanted/insisted on. If we sent out messages to everyone and people responded, we would feel obligated to write back! It would be a big time sink. We’ve gotten 41 reports in the last 24 hours.

I find it fascinating that almost all of the time, the moderators agree on each report. The Terms of Service are excellent guidelines.
Thanks @MaineLonghorn. I actually don’t have one in mind in that way. What made me think of it was a thread earlier today (I think it was today) where I did flag something I thought was a violation. Before it could be acted on, something else was posted that I also flagged. I wasn’t sure if I was being a pest by flagging a second post in the same thread, by the same poster, or not. Like maybe it was redundant. The thread ended up being removed IIRC, so in the end it must have been deemed a violation. I definitely see the points made and that you guys would actually have more work in responding and I shouldn’t worry about if I’m being a pest.
Usually if someone is concerned they’re being a pest, they’re not! We don’t mind multiple reports.
I should mention that when we get a report on a user, we typically look at their posting history to see if there are other objectionable posts, so it’s not necessary to flag multiple violations by the same user.
