Hello, I am enrolled in a dual credit program for some of my high school courses. Basically what it is is that when you take certain regular high school courses, you have the option to pay for college credit for those courses through my local state school. In a sense, it is not really true “dual enrollment” as I’m not taking these classes directly from the college, and the classes are still the exact same whether or not you actually paid for the college credit. It only occurred to me recently that I should’ve ordered the transcripts for my dual credit to be sent to the universities I applied to when a friend mentioned sending off theirs. I initially thought it was not a big deal because said courses are on my high school transcript (although it is not indicated whether or not they were dual credit), and these credits most likely aren’t going to transfer over to the schools I’m applying to anyways. However, I’ve been thinking about it more and I’ve been wondering if I made a mistake. I’ve read that most schools finish reading RD files by the end of February; so even if I order transcripts now, it is probably too late. I doubt this will actually affect my chances of admission, but it has been starting to eat away at me. Some clarity would be nice.
If they are on your hs transcript with a grade, you should be fine.
They need to know what you took and what grade you received.
So I don’t see this as an issue.
Great! Thank you.
My son graduated last year and did not send any of his dual enrollment college transcripts to colleges. They just used the high school one.
Once he matriculated he sent in his AP scores and DE classes to see what college requirements they would cover. For one DE class, the college asked to see the class syllabus before rendering a decision. Our high school provided it. On that one, they did not give him credit for a particular college class, but just awarded him general elective credits. Two fewer classes he needs to take to graduate.
