<p>Econ 102 is a pretty useless class…it’s not time consuming because studying doesnt really matter when the exam questions come out of now where. ACC 271 you have homework twice a week which usually take awhile, but its not a very difficult class (esp. compared to 272). Theres a few projects in BIT that take forever, but other than that you don’t really do much. BE -make sure you study A LOT for those exams…but the semester isn’t bad otherwise.</p>
<p>I don’t know about chem and asian…but yeah I do think you’re overdoing it. Maybe drop one of those classes? Unless you really want no life.</p>
<p>Since this is heading into an econ convo…I’d like to minor or possibly double major in econ with my main major in engineering. I haven’t really done much econ in hs so should I take Econ 101 my first semester to get a feel of economics?</p>

<p>A 3.7 by the end of freshman year is good, but remember that all your classmates will have had something like that, so competition is still fierce. It’s also hard to predict B-school performance with a first-year GPA. Some people who didn’t do so well freshman year can end up doing better (mainly due to a rigorous courseload like maguo’s). Others who had it easy first year (i.e. BS classes) and got a 3.8+ can fall below 3.2 during Ross. It’s about how prepared you are, not your past GPA. If you’ve done well in hard classes and got a 3.7, you’re better off than classmates who got in with an easy 3.7.</p>
<p>I know someone who did OMS 301, ECON 401, ECON 340, and ACC 271 last year. She did fine in all of them, though ECON 401 was the hardest for her. (Remember that the core changed for next year, so last year we had OMS 301 instead of BE/BIT. The current curriculum is effective starting next year.)</p>

im confused about this courseload simply because of the reasons you stated above… i dont know how well im gonna adjust to the b-school classes…
i was also thinking of taking econ 401/402 next summer/spring and concentrating on my b-school classes and requirements in the fall and winter…
obviously i wanna complete both majors within four years so i would have to take a rigorous courseload every semester… keeping that in mind, what other classes do you think i could take along with my b-school classes ?</p>
<p>You know…maybe its just the age talkin here, but I really don’t understand why so many people are trying to “be the hero” when it comes to these schedules. You are likely to graduate in 4 years with a perfectly acceptable GPA regardless if whether or not you take a schedule which you obviously know will be challenging. What for…is it like a macho thing to see who has the most awful schedule? I’m not blaming you, because lord knows I used to do it myself…but in the end its not worth it.</p>
<p>BIT isnt that bad… i mean, i think the work you get is way too much for a 1.5 credit course… but you can get a 100 on all the assignments if you just follow simple directions… i think the only questionable item is the final, but if youre decent with computers and did all your assignments, its not bad at all.</p>
<p>well i understand what you’re saying kb… but i think the real reason this happens is not because people want to “be the hero” but because everyone wants to have a manageable semester load everytime while simultaneously fulfilling every requirement for their degree…
and if it just takes one really hard semester in order to ease off the pressure for the rest, then i think it makes sense to do so…</p>
<p>BE 300 (3): easy class. Pay attention to lectures, if you have Kearny even better. If you have Dharma, skip his lectures and attend kearnys. </p>
<p>BIT 200 (1.5): eh…found it to be a waste of time. i just browsed online a lot. </p>
<p>ACC 271 (3): I found accounting to be challenging and rewarding. Klemstine is a great lecturer and having the lecture outlines in your book really helps. Pray that you have a good mACC student to go over homework and review problems. The exams are a lot harder than needed, but it really weeds out who knows their **** and who doesn’t. Make friends with people in pre-business fraternities and gain access to past exams to practice on (although this is more relevant for 272 since in 271 they give you more than one old exam). There are 3 exams in the class and be prepared to get brutally sodomized by the final at 8 in the morning, but dont worry because everyone else is equally as screwd.</p>
<p>haha, yeah that was a good last day of class. woke up and got blackout drunk, missed gtbooks lecture, but made the discussion (dsmo was there to witness how obnoxious i was). Played pong all afternoon, stopped one hour before my exam (Orgo II HH lab exam). Then got one of the highest grades on that exam and got an A- in the class.</p>
<p>Orgo II lab exam was a joke. Not that it was easy, but it wasn’t designed to help or hurt your grade. I answered only 2 questions since it was so damn hard and I think that actually bumped my grade down 1/3 down to a B+ from a A-. Noone took the exam seriously. The entire exam was like 11 giant sudoku problems anyways and I suck at problem solving.</p>

<p>yeah, that was the day. you took pics of me during class? don’t remember this. post them somewhere. all i remember is running out of the room to use the bathroom as soon as Carrie left.</p>
<p>did Carrie realize i was wasted? maybe that’s why i got a B+ in that class and not the A I deserved. I definitly deserved an A because I actively participated in class, and gave thoughtful commentary all the time.</p>
