RIP The O, April 2020.
RIP, DIrty Os, PHI (Panther Hollow Inn) and Chiodo’s
Chiodo’s was my favorite. There’s a Walgreens there now.
I know. Some friends of mine thought about buying it when Joe retired, but then they remembered that they already had jobs or owned businesses, and it wouldn’t be the same without Joe anyway. Iron and Steel with a Mystery Sandwich!
Let’s move the conversation forward please
Assuming, for simplicity, that there is an even distribution of students across classes, then, based on the above, 4% of sophomores + juniors + seniors live on campus.
As others have pointed out, UC Davis is definitely comparable to UMich in terms of academics, but the financial piece cannot be ignored, especially since you have plans to go to grad school. If finances are not a consideration for you, then you may put more weight on the desire to get out of Michigan and spread your wings and experience a new climate and culture. The schools you are comparing are a little different than just comparing typical in-state v. out-of-state schools, because obviously Michigan is a top public school, but the UC’s are also in a tier of their own (Davis is #6 public university in the country) and not the same as the CA state schools (CSU’s). I assume you have made a decision by now and am curious to know what you decided. Great choices either way!
We can assume that the OP has decided which college to attend. Closing.
