<p>URM status is an ethnic thing, so if you’re ethnically hispanic, that should do it. In any case, it sounds like your life has been interesting so far, and that should give you lots of fuel for great essays. </p>
<p>I agree with the earlier poster who suggested you start getting in contact with NU as soon as possible. Get down there if you can for a visit and and a tour, and be sure you fill out the card when you do. Also, you have time to get into a summer program there next summer. (Don’t let cost stop you, if it looks too expensive - they do offer financial aid). There are other summer programs too.</p>
<p>Regarding your EC’s, it’s great to add to the list but don’t spread yourself too thin. If film is your thing, and you started the club, that will certainly help, especially if you’re applying to the School of Communication as an RTVF major. Pursuing what you’re passionate about, and becoming accomplished in it can help as much as being a casual joiner in several other clubs.</p>
