You seem to enjoy pushing other people’s buttons. Typical college sophomores don’t generally spend their weekends on CC. It doesn’t matter whether their families are upper, lower, or middle income. Pretty much all of them have something better to do.
In the adult world, people don’t take others on “shopping sprees” because they were nice to them. In some situations it would be interpreted as attempting to buy friends. In others, it could be seen as an attempt to buy favors (i.e. bribery), so if you really do that kind of thing it’s in your best interest to cut it out.
