<p>I agree baseball mom. Though many of us can feel that americans don’t appreciate their democratic history…the very fact that our country is a democracy makes our culture very different from other cultures. We have never had any type of monarchy, royal succession or heiracrchy that hands power down thru family lines from one dictatorship to another. (or horrible civil conflicts as different groups fight to take over power) neither have we had anything approaching a communist or socialist form of government. </p>
<p>We just don’t have any frame of reference for what it is like for others to have lived under such systems. Our style of government defines alot of who people are as Americans. (it’s just too boring to put into the movies much…so all you see from Hollywood is the “fun stuff”!! ;-)</p>
