well my D is declining her offer, as she has decided on GW, so hopefully that might help someone get off the waitlist.
I got accepted with 3.3 gpa and 1240 SAT. I get why people with stats much higher than mine are upset to be waitlisted, but you’re not the only ones. I also have the problem where I get rejected from easier to get in state schools and harder to get in private schools. I thought I would never find a place that would accept people with average stats like mine but I got accepted to American. Just know that not only people with perfect stats get hurt by ways that colleges decide to admit students, but somehow people feel bad and advocate only for those who have perfect stats, but oh well.
I got accepted to the spring 2018 with a 4.8 weighted and 3.78 unweighted GPA and a SAT of 1140 (which I know is low). I’m leaning towards the mentorship program; however, financially, it would be in my best interest to work during the fall. If anyone would give me more info about the program, I’d appreciate it!
My daughter got admitted in 3 year Public Health Scholars program. Any feedback (good or bad) about this program from current parents ? also, she received presidential merit scholarship of 20K but this is not enough for us. Any feedback how to request further merit aid ?

Hi, I am interested in applying to American next year but I have a few financing concerns. Did any of you come from households with less than a 100,000 dollar income? What scholarships or financial aid did you receive from American? Or other, outside scholarships? I have pretty average stats so I know I won’t be able to get a lot of merit from American but if there is anything you guys did outside of the school, I’m really interested about learning about those programs.
