Amherst to issue $100 million in taxable bonds for working capital

Student Newspapers sometimes get quotes and figures wrong!

Check right from the College’s website: [On Financial Challenges](http://www.middlebury.edu/administration/budget/challenge/)

^ That the newspaper put out the numbers last week and the last time the website was updated was the end of January, I was just assuming they were dealing with adjusted numbers much like any gain or loss.

I looked and coundn’t find the $300 million figure in the “Campus” archives. Which article was it?

[College finances hold up, for now - News](http://media.www.middleburycampus.com/media/storage/paper446/news/2009/02/26/News/College.Finances.Hold.Up.For.Now-3651722.shtml)

Interestingly when I now just reread the article (and this is where I got the number), it seems to have been updated to reflect a loss of only 252 million (vs 300) and that’s only if you do the subtraction. That was not how it was worded the first time I read it (as I wouldn’t have done the math). You can actually tell it was updated after the page was was put online because of some formatting glitch within the paragraphs (usually happens with a cut and paste or other edit).

Just to bump.
