And the wait begins...

Has anyone gotten an interview yet?

I read their FAQ pages and it says that you’ll be notified when they send you a confirmation by snail-mail, if I recall correctly.

i just did an interview last week but thats bcus i submitted my app two weeks ago!

good luck everyone!

My d had her interview yesterday. She filed her common app electronically on Oct. 22nd. She enjoyed the interview…no weird questions: if you were a fruit what would you be? Just follow ups on her resume list of activities and classes. Of course, why Yale? was asked. From what she said it sounded more like the interviewer was not trying to establish WHAT she had done but why, and how she felt about the things she had spent time on in high school. In other words, more what kind of person is she, than “list your accomplishments.” I’d love to see the eval they fill out after the interview to know what directs the vector of the conversation!

Lets hope I get one…I really want one haha.

Do they ask for your views on current events and things like that?

riverrunner-- The evaluation asks the interviewer to rate the interviewee on a scale from 1 to 9. 5 is the average score, a 9 is reserved for a once in a lifetime interviewee. Nothing else but space to write your comments.

Thanks AA! That matches with my D’s experience. Just a good conversation. Someone asked about “current events” questions. I asked my D and she said her interviewer asked about “social/political issues of interest to her at her school”. (Our high school is known for having political/social concerns clubs and subgroups). I’m guessing he was just hitting topics he thought might be relevant to my D. Conclusion: there is no formula, no checklist, no “typical” interview. I will say she was glad she dressed conservatively :).

You won’t believe what a stupid thing I did with my early app. I submitted the app and supplement on Oct 25th and didn’t think of it again because of the SAT. But I had forgotten to state on the Common App account that I apply with a fee waiver, so they didn’t receive my app. Thank God, they were nice enough to guess the problem and sent me an email, so I fixed it today.
