Hi,
I’m sure this is kind of a weird question but…
are there any school traditions/legends/well-known stories that an outsider wouldn’t know?
I’m trying to write an essay from the perspective of something on campus…

For a little bit of background info, I read a story where a gargoyle was telling the story of a cathedral from ITS perspective, so I kinda wanted to do that with my BS essays.

Write from what you know. If you have to ask for stories, you will be on shaky ground writing secondhand and, IMO, what you’re suggesting sounds like perfect fodder for that thread. Best to leave that kind of artifice to a creative writing class and answer the essay prompt from your own point of view. The school is trying to hear your voice and learn something about you. Unless you are extremely skilled with this kind of writing (and perhaps you are), I would advise against it. If you DO decide to use this form, write from firsthand knowledge.
Agree with @ChoatieMom. This would not be coming from your experience. It may be inferred as trying too hard and will likely be unsuccessful.

And while all the above are excellent points, let’s not forget another one - the site’s purpose is not to help you write your essays, or any other work. so closing thread.
