Andover or Exeter?

Everyone from Exeter is completely right, there has been a huge push this year to listen to all viewpoints, and we’ve had a lot of discussions about it. Of course, being a minority anywhere in any way can be difficult sometimes, but I think that Exeter is really taking a step forward in giving political minorities a voice, too.

Either way, going back to the OP’s questions about E or A, it’s all about how you feel. I originally wanted Andover because of Exeter’s “rigidness” and “conservative feel” (not politically, btw), but I realized that Exeter had everything I wanted and more and has been the best decision for me. I hope you make the right decision for yourself, but of course we all at Exeter hope that you’ll be coming to New Hampshire next fall <3

Politics played no role in our BS decision. I’ve tried to not burden my kids with too much politics.

We chose Andover because we liked the students and teachers we interacted with. I also preferred no Harkness for math and science.

Thanks for the thoughtful comments. We will revisit both and have made arrangements to meet with coaches and teachers in areas of interest. As a neuroscientist, the Exeter life sciences curriculum is robust and facilities stellar! The outreach from Andover faculty and students since March 10th has been very welcoming! They make a big effort to “reel you in!” We shall see if there is a strong feeling about “fit” when we are on campus. I don’t think we can go wrong, and for that we are extremely grateful.
