Hi, I went to CCS for 2 years and am transferring (decided I want to study Computer Science instead). CCS is GREAT school, and its incredibly rigorous. I wasn’t in the animation department, but you might just take a look at the courses they offer.
My experience with CCS was that, while mostly you take the same classes as everyone else in your major, you have the opportunity to self-guide what you put out. So in my upper level courses, we’d have project prompts but got to decide how we wanted to address it. Though this doesn’t apply to you, its a good example: in one of my classes, a few people made posters, a few designed books, someone did a film, and I made a website and app.
It is what you make of it. Yeah, all the money is in the Transportation department which is considered the best in the world, but that also means CCS is one of the most well funded private art schools out there. Considered the Best in the Midwest overall.
Be prepared to have no life and do around 60 hours of homework a week, along with typically 30 hours of physical class time.
