<p>big yawn here about the “celebrity” aspect. But I don’t think that’s what drives the coverage: it’s the money, it’s the melodrama, & it’s the legal issues. The legal issues are actually rather interesting & complex, for those of us who are legal-junkies & actually interested in the intellectual stuff. I know that’s the only part I’m interested in, and that only vaguely.</p>
<p>Yes, since the O.J. trial, it brought the legal-junkie out in most Americans, I think.</p>
<p>I don’t get ANS either. A lucky bimbo, famous for being famous, dies and there’s a squabble over estate as a line queues up with pretenders and contenders as to who the father of her poor baby is. I have more sympathy for the baby than anyone else.</p>
