Gerrymandering has both existed since the start of the country and is greatly exaggerated. Much bigger factors are people from one party tend to want to live on the coasts or in major cities, which inherently concentrates their vote, and our election system is winner take all by design.

@Akqj10 I’ll bite, where are you getting this speeding and texting while driving stuff. My kid’s call me a luddite because I don’t text. No cell service at our house so it just seems like a PITA to me. I do at times responded to email from my cell phone when I’m out and about waiting for someone but can’t fathom how one would do that while driving? Let alone speeding? Please tell me how you are coming up with this wild accusations?
Akqj10, at this point, 121 sounds naive. You’re missing the point many are making- that this stands as theft, no matter what her personal explanation or “pride.” There is no point arguing that you’re okay with it- we get that. And it bothers many that you’re so blithe about it here. So they asked, where do you draw the line?
Don’t tell us, in a worn out line, that the fact others do wrong means your own actions are excused. That’s high school level thinking.

Oh, gerrymandering is far from exaggerated in many areas and the whole “coasts and major cities” thing has little bearing on the impact of gerrymandering on state and local elections in many places.

Worry it, how? What did she REALLY accomplish with her action besides breaking the law? How about taking more productive action? Many teens in my town were canvassing during the GOTV stage. Now, that I highly respect no matter who your candidate was.
