Another Wedding Question - what kind of beer?

Does good beer only come in bottles? I thought you could get kegs for large parties and serve it in glasses. I’m not a drinker so I don’t know which are the good brands, but my husband drinks Sam Adams now and then, and Guinness too, I think. We have microbreweries locally, but some of their beers are better than others. Even if you find a beer you like, the brewing cycle for that particular one may not coincide with the wedding.

118 consolation: drat. I was so impressed with myself. What do you think about “oligarchs”?

Patrician does come from the Greek patrikos but I think you are correct they don’t mean the same thing.
Patrician/patrikos are the origins of pater/father. They refer to patriarchy and fathers being rulers, in my mind. I can’t think how it connects with fortunes made through trade or finance. I do think it has to do with gentry like mathmom said.

What we all think words mean is a continuing source of interest to me in all these threads.

I drank an abita turbo dog last night in honor of this thread. We support abita.

Just like beer has been artisanalized and craft-brewed and micro brewed to make it feel more upscale than it used to be, so apparently is popcorn. So maybe the next thread will be what kind of popcorn to serve at a wedding, and it will no longer just be associated with watching the movies!

No, one example I like is Ten Fidy.

I think I would be more interested in heirloom popcorn, than banana flavored or with sprinkles.

I don’t think it would go very good with beer either.

Cheesy, salty popcorn is a good choice for pairing with beer for anyone on carbobinge. :)

I was just looking at the ones with candy on it. But siracha flavor might be good.I like to make my own and put ancho chili powder on it with canna butter.

Note to self for daughters’ potential wedding-- refuse pay for cr*p beer.

Heineken does same everywhere-- it is really boring.

Consistency is different than boring.
