@Twoin18 I came across this article from 2002, https://www.deseretnews.com/article/515035274/The-cost-of-college.html where they changed the residency requirement from 1 year to 60 units (about 2 years): “In 2002 the Legislature increased the residency requirement — the length of time nonresident students have to live here to qualify for in-state tuition — from one year to 60 credit hours, basically two years. As a result, many students chose not to come to Utah, negating the anticipated $5 million tuition increase.” I guess they changed it back to the “one year rule” sometime after 2002. Hopefully they learn from their history!
