Any Guesses on the New Amazon HQ?

Bike paths would need to be cleared. In areas with a lower expectation of snow, they often aren’t equipped for more than main routes first. I dont know about MN, but in parts of the NE, the priority roads are labelled snow routes.

In hs, the explanation for why DC freaks at snow was the number of OOS and international folks living there.

But then, I’ve seen DC completely shut down by a 2-inch snowfall—people are afraid to drive in it, much less bike. So maybe it’s a regional thing.>>>>>>>

To be fair, yes, the first one every year tends to freak everyone out. By storm three or four, everyone is just going with the flow. Old news.

Often, they don’t even plow my street (sometimes, not even the adjacent main cross town routes,) at 2". New England.

I don’t mind driving over 2" snow. The trouble is unplowed snow melts and refreezes. No fun.

The metro DC area makes a lot of sense. I thought from the get go that this area would be the choice. This doesn’t surprise me…one bit.

So why all that circus if they had Dc area in mind?

Because we react. We’re finishing page 59 of this thread and they haven’t even announced. Marketing psychology.

I think if someone blew their doors off with an offer, they would go for it. Otherwise, I agree that DC was the default choice

Probably because JB wants it to at least look like a consensus decision.

Yeah, I am a sucker clicking this thread. I am not even that interested other than it being talked about. I hate people being so clever about exploiting senseless curiosity. This makes me like low-key approach more. I avoid buying from Amazon as much as I can. I search all other options first. Amazon is often my last resort.

It’s not really a secret. A lot of people already knew this 2nd HQ information. See my post #837.

Unrelated to HQ2. An Amazon warehouse collapsed in nearby Baltimore.

two city option? NoVa & Austin?

Or i could also guess DC and Denver.

WSJ and others say they’re in late talks with NVa, Dallas, and NYC.

So if they split HQ to two cities, they will also split the investment they promised 50,000 job and $5 Billion. Will the cities carry out the promised incentives or will they half it?

Queens NYC and Arlington Va

Shocked by long island city being chosen - didn’t see that one coming!

That article still sounds a bit tentative. Maybe that’s it, but let’s see it inked.

^^ Yes, agreed not signed on the dotted line yet but seems to be the preferred spots if they can get the pen to hit hte paper.
