lmao…the chinese

*raises hand

I confess I’m Indian… haha

I am an Indian too… I live in Patna ( Formerly known as Lalooland )

haha kewl… though as already visible the number of Mainland india still staying in India is very small…

btw, I am one of those … frm India… not PLME but…

But anyways brown does has a policy to admit students in their 2nd chioce in case PLME doesnt work out…

SM

how many of Indian Citizens without a PR status are here … and which are the ones with a PR status or US dual citizenship…

coz the PR ones and US citizenship holders + green card ones are counted in an entirely diff pool of applicants and there is unofficialy a selection process seperate for them than the mainland indians… …

SM

uh yeah, if you dont get into the PLME program you can still be admitted into Brown College, which I think is awesome

(they have a little box you can check so you can be considered for the college if you don’t get in)

i’m indian…and applied to PLME. hopefully i’ll get into brown if not the PLME

ha im american desi! well not really, thats just another one of those stupid terms indian movies go crazy with. my parents are both indian, but i was born in america. now we are all american citizens.

ditto as shark

so basically that gives u an American citizen status and doesn’t count as Indian in the application process… which also affect decisions in a huge way…

as also coz when these places report there intel stats they do so state the no. of Indians also … with an unofficial quota …which wont count you ppl in as you be in the domestic international one… and diff…

SM

We’re not Indian, but we do like the nice Indian restaurant next to campus.

Just so you all know it exists!

DianeR, have u eaten Chicken Tikka?

I’ve been a vegetarian for five years now. But before that, I’m sure I did. I love Indian food … also Chinese, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Indonesian, Thai, Japanese, Middle eastern, Italian, Spanish, Mexican, Ethiopian, etc. (the spicier, the better). And anybody’s dark chocolate.

OK, now I’m getting hungry It may be an Indian restaurant for me tonight. I now have a hankering for bhindi masala. I’ve never tried to make it myself. I’m afraid I will end up with a gooey mess – my husband is from the south, and this is his experience with cooking okra!

Oh, I didn’t notice before, ronty 007. You only have one message to go to get 1,000. Do you get to be a senior member then? I’m not quite sure the numbers when one’s level changes.

I am a Senior Member now :D

DianeR, r u an applicant?

Nah, my daughter is a Brown freshman. It was her dream school for the last four years and she is so happy to be there.

She does complain about the difficulty in finding people to eat at the Indian restaurant with her, though!

Congrats on being a senior member now. I just find it strange to be a “junior member” of anything cuz I’m so old ;)

Does the maize eating kind that is indiginous to the US count as being “Indian?”

Difficulty of finding people to eat at Kabbob and Curry? That’s funny… whenever I suggest going there, I end up with a huge group because everybody wants to go.

Brown rocks! I have applied there too…though I dont have any high hopes… Whats ur daughter’s intended major, DianeR?
Kababs r so tastyyyyyyyy :D
