Seriously, I think this is so cool - have a great time and sure wish it was allowed to have pictures here - it would be PRICELESS to see you all together!!!
I’ll wear my usual jeans. I never dress up on weekends. Hanna, I cannot wait to meet you. I have years working with the Lynn and FAU students, and I supervised Nova kids for years. This is a brunch I am really looking forward to.

That is the day we leave Florida for a week up north! Oh well, I would definitely have met you guys!

I’m excited! I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences meeting CC folks in real life.
Got a PM about this- since I’m a 4 hour drive had not read the thread, figured it was even further south. Too bad my H cancelled a potential conference there that time (we’re retired) or I would have said yes. Couldn’t get excited about a trip to the Atlantic side… Have fun from a lazy old lady (I’m old, parents’ generation is elderly).
So I was just watching the weather channel and there might be another N’oreaster next Monday. I’m supposed to be flying out early Tuesday morning. I know the forecast will probably change a million times before now and then but it’s still aggravating. I can easily change my flight to another day and just extend on the other end and I’m sure I’ll be able to get down before Saturday if I end up having to change. I hate uncertainty. 
I was reading your posts about this last storm and am glad it wasn’t as bad as predicted in your area.
Isn’t February usually worse than January? It looks like we picked the wrong month to head south.
^ They are both horrid. The only good thing about February is that it’s shorter than January.
I spent most of my life to date knowing there would be at least one good snowfall after spring officially arrived. March seemed to have plenty of snowy weather. One storm delayed our S Cal trip for a convention by a day- darn. Another closed schools so elementary school kid couldn’t get his work to take with.
I don’t miss snow at all. Been there, done that so many times. Interesting reading about the bad weather in the NE.
Wis, if you and hubby would like, please come to SE Florida, and stay with me for the weekend. I don’t live in a gated community, families of all ages, but I have plenty of room.
Thanks for the invite. Not likely- we enjoy being here too much and I can’t imagine talking H into it. I’m the gregarious one. Should day trip to a Gulf beach someday again. Waste time staring at the pond and woods a lot. Have driven to the upper Midwest and flown to S CA and WA in recent months- seeing family, being in homes and hotels, and there’s nothing like being at home.
We also did not choose a gated community within our larger one. Can’t see how unwanted people are truly kept out without significant inconvenience- too many strangers who need access for home upkeep and deliveries. Also prefer a mixed age community- our cul de sac has 1 month now to 90’s range. Several states and countries of origin as well. Politically and religiously diverse as well. Upper middle class- not too rich but well educated in general. Comfortable. Nice people.
My idea of lunch attire is T-shirt and shorts ideally. Will go with a nicer T and long pants as well. Even dinner is casual for us. So happy that is the norm around here. Have actually worn real shoes instead of sandals lately with the colder weather- like a typical Wisconsin summer temps.
We are meeting this Saturday if anyone else wants to join us. Let us know.
