Any tricks to get smell out of oriental rug?

nottelling, that carpet is amazing! OP is very lucky, even if hers is a copy.

Carpet is now clean and “installed” in our dining room. Cat was interested for a little while, but does not appear to want it as her next scratching toy. All good news.

Nice. We once got a carpet from a relative, and we showed it to a dealer to find out if it was worth anything. “Well, it’s a floor covering,” he said. I think he was also the guy who said that any stain would come out of a wool carpet except for “the urine of the dog.”

Yeah, I was worried about cat urine too, but both of our cats seem to ignore the carpet now. They still use our “$2,000 scratching posts” (chair and sofa my husband wanted in our “formal” living room), but that’s fodder for another thread. I may not be a helicopter mom, but Cat obedience is beyond my capabilities

Well, I’m sorry to report that our wool dhurrie did not fare as well. Still somewhat stained. I think S is going to “inherit” it .Better than bare floors and he won’t have to worry about taking care of it.
