are the acceptance emails longer than the rejection emails?

No, they don’t say anything about your decision, as far as I know.

Here’s the e-mail:

Dear -----,

We wanted to take this opportunity to inform you that admission decision letters were mailed from Northwestern University’s Office of Undergraduate Admission on Tuesday, March 28, 2006. Although you will soon be receiving your official decision letter in the mail, we wanted to offer you the option of viewing your decision online, via a secure Web site, by clicking on the link below.

The link sends you to our Applicant Services page. In order to access your decision, you will be asked for your Application ID code, which was given to you in the application acknowledgement letter, as well as your e-mail address. If you have more than one e-mail address, please enter the one on record with our office. Once you enter this information and click submit, your admission decision should appear immediately.

If you prefer not to receive your decision electronically, simply wait for your decision letter to arrive in the mail. However, if you would like to see your decision now, visit https://ugadm.northwestern.edu/application.

Sincerely,
Office of Undergraduate Admission
Northwestern University

weird - im accepted according to me online account, but i havent yet received an email…

You should get it soon, don’t worry. My decision was up a few minutes (at least) before the e-mail came in. Hey, congrats!!! :)

i never received an email.

Bizarre. Did they post a decision for you on the website?

I nevr got the email either, but I don’t care…I’m in!

Here’s a case irony. I got the snail-mail admitted student packet today earlier than I got the e-mail about my decision.
