Anybody watching the Country Music Awards?

jshain, I hope you’re right. I didn’t know a lot about him until a few months ago when he co-hosted the Today show with Hoda Kotb. He was hilarious, a bit of a bad boy. He has megastar potential.

Taylor Swift is the real deal. Smart, generous and a truly good person. We’ve all picked bad people to date…(well, many of us)

D was recently interviewed about her radio show, and she was asked if she has ever dated a musician. Her response was no, but she is open to it … so I made sure to comment on the good looking, young new artists last night! My in laws know the parents of one of the Lady A guys, so I thought maybe the cute blonde one was an option … but alas, D says he is married! ;)

Did anyone notice Taylor Swift’s exasperated look while appearing to mouth the word “WHAT” to someone off stage at the very end of her piano performance? She must have thought she was off-camera and it came across as a little unprofessional to me.

^^^I saw that too and wondered what it was about.

^^There was speculation elsewhere on-line that Taylor Swift was either reacting in astonishment to the standing ovation she was getting or maybe reacting to an instruction from a stage manager that she couldn’t see very well.

I find I like “country” music more and more the less and less it resembles true county music. I don’t like the twangy Loretta Lynn type stuff and all the cowboy hat guys very much. But I like the pop cross-overs (T. Swift being the latest example) pretty well.

I wondered about the Taylor Swift expression too, but in concert she does that as well, as if taken aback at the audiences response.
I love country music, I just dont view Kid Rock as such

My wife went to HS with Tanya Tucker for one year, in Henderson NV. She said some of the other classmates were mean to her, making fun of the fact that she lived in a trailer. I guess she showed them a thing or two. I would love to have seen the expression on those bullies faces, or read their minds, when she became a star!

I always watch the CMA and enjoy the full range of country music. I’ve been a fan since my first day of college when a bluegrass band was playing outside of the student center at the Univ. of Kentucky. It really blew me away. To this day, whenever I hear one of the songs I heard that day for the first time (like Catfish John or Uncle Pen, or White Sport Coat), I think back to that day at UK.
