Anyone Applying ED1?

Woah Tamtastic, I’m applying to occidental too, basically a lot of liberal arts colleges. Crazy how similar our tastes are! (: I’m applying to 6 ucs but no csus, I probably should have though. A friend of mine just got accepted into Stanford! So exciting haha. Anyway no ivy leagues for me, i’m not really after brands haha. boomboomkrn, I’m totally with you on everything you said. In fact this will (hopefully) be my last post until I find out decision. I feel bad for my mailman he’s going to get jumped!

We might even know each other through people, haha! We probably do. Yeah, I WANT POMONA THOUGH. My school makes us apply to 4 UCS, and 4 CSUs, so yeah! aha. dang, everybody here is so strong-willed! i’m probably going to be checking for nothing for the next few days 'cause NOBODY’LL be here :(

the other night i had a dream about checking the mail. i woke up at 3 in the morning, and couldn’t sleep for basically the rest of the night. i played through every scenario of checking the mail, what shape the Pomona letter was, and then my mixed reactions to each of them. it was sick. soon the torture will be over.

My last CC (hopefully) post too! Or at least until decisions come out :stuck_out_tongue: OMG I’m so freaking nervous LKJSLDKGJKLDJS;LAKMGD sorry. haha I applied to four UCs, no CSUs, and several privates… no Ivies…mostly medium sized (one large) schools with a LAC-esque focus. I seriously can hardly wait anymore. My mom and I keep arguing over who gets to open the envelope; whether she’s allowed to open it before I get home, or whether I get to open it after school… I seriously just want to get it over with… I’m not even sleeping anymore and I keep stress eating, which is seriously a new thing for me. Usually I stop eating lol. I’m rambling again.

Okay,
best of luck to everyone
BYE! And try to sleep haha.

I had a dream the other night about getting my letter too! but in my dream I got a small envelope and was basically crushed. and sarsoccersar, my parents and I had that fight too! my dad was so close to opening my tulane acceptence but I yelled at him over text untl he promised not too haha but Im pretty sure they wont be able to resist pomona’s.
I also applied to 4 UCs and then other schools similar to most of your guys’. A big thing for me was warm weather, so all my schools are in california or the south.
I am so anxious to recieve a letter its getting ridiculous and the fact that I live all the way on the east coast and will have to wait is not helpful at all.

Waiting for my D’s. Called in today to see when their decision will get to the mail box. It will be anytime anyday of this week, depending on where you live. So good luck to you all!

i have also applied e1, and am anxiously awaiting a decision! my school has finals this week, so its like double the stress, but i am hoping for good news :)

i just got off the phone with the admissions office, and they said the letters are being mailed out today, and everyone should have their decision by friday 12/16. i guess now all thats left is to obsessively check the mail!

GAAAHH
so if i live in northern california, i could possibly know by tomorrow?!

*cue nervous breakdown

TOMORROW?! I live in Norcal too! AHHHHHH FREAK OUT! I also fail at not going on CC. Tomorrow. If no decision comes tomorrow, I swear I will not go on CC. ← unlikely. bleh.

Lovewater16- by chance do you live in the East Bay?

I nearly had a nervous breakdown at school haha I basically felt like my heart was in my throat all day until my mom finally texted me saying nothing was in the mail. haha

it’s possible. I’d say it’s more likely to come by on Wednesday.

^^ I agree- especially with the latest US Postal decisions, it’s basically impossible for it to come tomorrow, unless they actually sent them on Friday.

Omg. That is the most amazing thing I’ve ever heard/watched. I’m about to watch it like fifty times tomorrow. So relaxing

@sarsoccersar check your private messages!

either way…i’ll be stalking my mailman from my bedroom window

Rejected and not sure why. They asked for my progress report and I have straight A’s. :/

Wow, sorry to hear that. Maybe the process is different this year with the new admissions director. The decision is obviously not a referendum on your qualifications, hangingtree. I’m sure you’re going to have great choices, but that doesn’t make it any easier in the moment. Are you in SoCal?

Thanks JeanCocteau. (: I’m tempted to steal the Stanford REA thread format and post on here. And yup, I’m in SoCal.

Yeah, use the SCEA format. Then we can help each other puzzle this out.

Hey, hangingtree, we cross-posted! Your stats are really high. :frowning: And you have great ECs. You look like an exceptional candidate. Cyber-hug here. Maybe it’s a geographical diversity thing? I remember reading one of the previous year’s threads that showed a lot of SoCal applicants getting into Ivies, Swat, etc., while being rejected by Pomona! Are you looking on the East Coast as well?

Hey, everyone, let’s help each other out and post stats on the OFFICIAL Pomona 2016 thread so that we can try to make some sense of this process. Maybe all the admits in the ED cycle are hooked applicants? Let’s try to find out. The power of CC.

Lol sorry – I posted on here and then CollegeFreek posted the official thread so I moved my stats over there. Thank you though! Possibly – it might also be because I’m Asian but I’m not sure. And yes, I’m looking at quite a few out-of-state colleges. I am actually kind of glad I didn’t get Pomona so I can see about other universities. No hard feelings.

Good luck to you though! And yes, -cyberhug- (:

Hey, good luck with RD, hangingtree! I have the feeling you’ll end up with great choices. We’re pulling for you all the way.

Haha thank you. I hope you make Pomona! (: To be honest, Pomona was never my #1 choice – it was just a compromise with my mother. Maybe it was #2 or #3 but I never had that gut feeling that I should be there. So no hard feelings and good luck again to you!
