When the time comes, report back! Little trips like this can be the best!
August can be a lovely time on Lake Michigan. Gorgeous sunsets over the lake. Keep an eye out for local peaches that time of year, too. For my money, a Michigan peach just can’t be beat, and they’re all grown in that southwestern corner of the state. Peak season for blueberries, melons, tomatoes, and sweet corn, too. Moderated by the lake, the climate in southwestern Michigan is ideal for growing fruit. Lots of farmstands and u-pick farms in the area, plus a small farmers market in Saugatuck and a bigger one just up the road in Holland.
