Anyone else wonder if their kids are related to each other?

I am the step-mother of 2. They are quite opposite. Step-daughter is just like her mom. Step-son is just like his father (my H). I have 1 daughter of my own. She’s like no one I’ve ever known (in a great way)!

Although they are very different personalities, my two kids get along well & they enjoy being around each other. We all spend time together at our family cottage & it always goes well.

My brothers & I are all very different, as I mentioned upstream. However, we have had a number of challenges in our family to deal with, and we have stuck together & dealt with them really well. We are different, but we are family first & foremost.

My two kids, one girl one boy, have extremely different personalities, but extremely similar value systems and very similar interests. They are very, very close. D is married with a baby. S is very close with that whole family. They all just left after a week visit together at the Shore with us and I miss them all. I’m just so, so grateful for how much they like each others’ company.

I have two rather disciplined, level-headed kids, and one who is more of a free spirit, but all have similar morals/values and outlooks on life. I’m like the above who said they would have thought they were the perfect parent if they’d stopped at one. My second one taught me that my kids are not my little clones after all. They are all different and fun and enjoy being together and keep in touch so I can’t really ask for more than that.

I really enjoy this thread. My boys are different in so many ways. And, yes, if I had stopped at one I would also be the perfect parent. But both my boys are close to each other and to my husband and myself and both have a great sense of humor. That’s where it ends. One is great at math and one may have a disability in that area. One always hangs with us when home and one stays in his room. But I’m grateful for my blessings. And I love reading what everyone says and that their experiences mirror ours.
