<p>I know, rumbean22, and I can’t prove my point about this–but I still think the main purpose of the interviews is to make alumni feel important and connected. (Years ago I did some alumni interviewing for Yale, and I could never see the slightest correlation between my reports on the kids and the admissions results.)</p>
