Anyone had a mini facelift?

I work in a plastic surgery OR, so I may be biased…I’ve thought about the mini lift. I’ve watched plenty of face lifts, but never a mini. Actually, I’ve worked a couple of them, but I guess I didn’t pay much attention to the actual surgery. Still, it’s just not done often in our practice. I asked one of our surgeons about it and he said it’s more appropriate for someone who’s already had work done and needs to refresh after 10 years or so. I’ve seen a lot of face lifts and just hesitate to go that far. One of our nurses had the full face lift done by our doc, and she looks very good. You really wouldn’t know, unlike many whose faces scream it out at you and look horrific. But I am afraid of such a big procedure. You can’t undo it.

I don’t aspire to looking younger per se, just less downtrodden. My little bit of sagging around my mouth/cheeks is making me look grumpy or sad. I don’t like it-wrinkles don’t bother me a bit, but the drooping is not attractive.

I don’t know…I’m not doing anything soon, but…

@conmama, I just saw that Outlander starts back on September 10. I knew it was projected for September, but I didn’t know for sure.

@Nrdsb4 …,yes, it’s the droopy that makes me feel old. I’m always a little shocked when I look in a mirror…it doesn’t look like me staring back. It seemed that it happened overnight. I’m surprised your doctor does only full facelifts. The mini lifts are just under the eyes and don’t involve browlifts or blepharoplasties. I see tons of them on real self. I think it has to be so incredibly important to pick the right surgeon.

Oh, very excited about Outlander. I just finished reading her book of short stories… Seven Stones to Stand or Fall. I was happy to find that I naturally was envisioning my Jaime, and not TV Jaime as I was reading it.

I just hope to live to 57 and be healthy I cant worry about the surface. We all age and trying to turn back time has always felt funny to me, but if it makes you feel better and you have thr means go for it.

One of my clients has beautiful skin on her face. This summer was the first time I’ve seen more of her body – due to summer clothing – and I realized – duh – she must have had a face lift because her face doesn’t “match” the rest of her body parts.

I can see how one tweek might lead to another and another.

Anyhow, her face is very pretty and I look older & more worn than she does…and she probably has 7-10 years on me.

It has to be done well. A good face lift makes you think “Wow, she has sure aged well.” They don’t necessarily look years younger, they just look very good for their age. A bad one makes you think “Oh my God, she’s had work done and she looks horrible. Poor thing.”

I had the Kybella shots for my double chin and was really pleased after. It was painful and didn’t look great the first few days but totally worth it to me. I am considering the skin tightening laser but apparently it leaves marks for a few days.
