Anyone needing support and encouragement, c'mon in Hugs Hideaway!

Maybe I won’t get a dog just yet . . .

(((hugs))) to you and the pooch!

On the plus side, the dog doesn’t require a college fund!

ellemenope,
Your pup chews the sofa…I got one on you! We’ve gone through three throw rugs in my front living room in the past year! Our dog seems to think that underneath the piano there is a little doggie toilet just for her. And my dear husband is getting a hernia having to LIFT that d*** piano everytime I bring home a new rug!

I’ll take a raggedy sofa any day over the DREAD of walking into that room every morning. (Did she? Or didn’t she?)

ROFL! Thank goodness. We have four dogs, three cats, three guinea pigs, and a sweet bunny named Jojo… :D

Welcome back, Berurah – I’ve missed your friendly posts! Hope all is OK.

I have to agree with momof2inca, though in this case it’s 18. Had a discussion with S1 (more an argument, actually) the other day regarding the crappy attitude. There was a thread a month or so ago called “The summer before they leave for college is terrible!” or something like that. Was getting ready to resurrect it, though things have gotten a bit better since our talk.

At least the dogs think I’m pretty wonderful (only three here, though younger daughter is asking when she’ll get a dog of her own)…

My dog needs hugs because he has poofy dog hair. We had him cut back for the summer, and it’s growing back in but a little poofy in places. He wants to be beautiful.

Wow. So many dog stories in here! How’d your dog get poofy dog hair, MOWC? That must be so hard to groom in the hot, muggy summer months. Does yours need a clipping too, ellemenope? Do you do it yourself or use a groomer?? I used to take our now, late sweet dog to the groomer. He always came back with such cute little scarfs on to match the season or holiday. I tried to groom him myself-- could never make his fur come out all soft and straight. I think he looked like yours, MOWC- all poofy haired.

My dog would EAT his cute little scarves when got groomed at Tailwaggers Country Inn. {{{HUG}}} to those nice people at Tailwaggers who gave him the nice scarves to eat.

My dog DOES require a college fund, because he has to go to a Top 20 school. I won’t hear of him going to a CC or a lowly state school. After all, he is superior in every way, even with his poofy dog hair!

LOL MOWC! Wonder what flavor those scarves are! I miss those days, and my poor, sweet Cavalier. It is making me sad just to reminisce about those days. :frowning: And I don’t think, with all that happened with my s’s broken leg and all that back in March, that I ever told my CC friends that we ended up having to give back the sweet doggie that we adopted (Cody/Colby) to the other family whose kids wanted him back. Soooo sad. Can I cyber-share someone’s doggie?? It will comfort me.

{{{Hugs}}} to you JYM. And you can cyber-share my great doggie and three cats (1 is pretty old and nasty, though).

Hey…My poor little chihuahua WISHES she had poofy dog hair…she’s just a little baldy…lol! Poor thing…no one would want to cyber-share her.

ldmom06,
Bald? Poor thing. Sounds like my H (JK- he has a full head of hair! LOL).
But I would love to cyber share your little sweetie–she sounds low maintenance- and I wont have to walk her!!

actually…my little baldy makes my big baldy (my dh of 26 years) feel like he’s not so alone in a house full of people with thick hair. They are hair compadres. (But…the cats…now they aren’t poofy haired…so no excuses for the hairballs on my carpet…)

Btw…a good long walk for the chihuahua is to the stop sign and back…rofl!

Thanks so much, sweetie. Your kind words are much appreciated! :)

I’m sorry that things have been rough with your 18-year-old son. At least you are in good company, as many of us have dealt on and off with kids in these stages. The fact that he seems to have responded to your talk is a very good sign, IMHO. Hope things smooth out for the rest of the summer!

Don’t make fun of Chihuahua dogs with poofy hair. My neighbor can’t keep his Chihuahua from jumping into the pool. The funny part is that the adorable puppy uses the diving board and wears a gold medal. However, the chlorine is turning its hair into a nice reddish color and it’s all poofed up.

MOWC, that is one narcissistic K9!

ROFL xiggi…I must tell you a story about mine and the swimming pool.

She HATES other dogs (I think she envies them because they have poofy hair and she doesn’t). One day ldgirl’s boyfriend brought his new puppy to our house…and decided to put him on a float in the pool (with both kids standing by). The chihuahua was livid at the sight of this puppy in her backyard. She literally turned into Cujo…all she wanted was to sink her teeth into this puppy. She has never been in the pool…ever…and that day before we could stop her, she jumped on to an empty mat launching it to the center of the pool near the puppy, and then jumped on to the puppy’s mat and bit that poor thing. It was a floating dog fight. We were torn between horror and hysterical laughter.

Bad dog. lol!!

xiggi…re: #37…Ever heard the expression 'Live and let live" ?

Go on home now. You’ve definitely got better things to do.

What could be better than a thread about chihuahuas cheers? lol! JK… I know I digress.
