<p>Best of luck to your son, @jeannemar. Our S2 had to change to public middle school after sixth grade and he did fine, socially and gradewise. A new start can give a kid a whole new lease on life. </p>

<p>Orientation went well. I even got a moment afterwards to speak to the GC privately about how stressed she has been. Now I have a set of eyes in the building during the day. I think she will be fine. Thanks to all for your comments. </p>
<p>Hardly any kids from his elementary school went to the magnet school. Most of them ended up at the other middle school, where he is now.</p>
