Did you get in, xcyuen? What other schools did you apply to? Any Canadian ones?

Nope…i didn’t get into SPS…
I didn’t need FA either

Schools i applied to: SPS, Andover, Lawrenceville, Cranbrook Kingswood, Milton Academy, Hill school, Upper Canada College

Rejected by: SPS, Andover, Lawrenceville,
Waitlist: Milton
Accept: Hill
Waiting for: UCC, Cranbrook

UCC: there IB but i thought about it for a while the other day. If i get accepted, im not gonna go because i dont like the environment there and its also IB, which i can get right now.

69 ssat…ahh…maybe he bribed the adcom.

How bout u Jonathan1??

loll umm, iono but im jsut assuming rejection b/c i didnt get into hotchkiss or lawrenceville… >.<

I got rejected from Andover. Not a big deal.

Sorry sabregiel121. Weren’t you also applying to the Cambridge School of Weston? You can still do applications at many great boarding schools, but most of them have mandated study hall. I think 11th & 12th graders often have more freedom.

Sorry chunkyT. You said you were testing the waters. If you apply again next year, select a balanced list of schools – not just reaches – if you really want boarding school in the US.

yup, i am. still havent heard from them.
im feel incredibly disappointed- imean i was so sure that id put my best foot foward, but i suppose that wasnt enough. uggh- imean as much as i love doing film, i dont think that i want to stay at idyllwild arts, i want to go to a AESD type school…

damn, this sux.

Well, I’ll probably not apply for any more US boarding schools unless I build some amazing skill that they would be impressed with (bagpiping perhaps?) Andover seems like a great school, but I think I’ve realized that it might be too challenging for me competing against people far more involved/intelligent than me. Even if I did go back to private school, I would probably go to UCC…although my many years at St. Andrews has made develop a fierce hatred against them…

Now that this whole thing is over, I can’t wait for university applications (Yeah right…)

I applied to Greenhills School in Ann Arbor, about a half an hour away from Cranbrook. I was going to apply to Ashbury College in Ottawa where my dad lives, but I don’t really want to live with him lol. Next year I plan to apply to Andover, Exeter, St. Paul’s, and Deerfield.

Interesting to see another who wants to apply to all four AESD schools. May I ask why you chose those four, Jonathan? I thought my results were very interesting: acceptenced at Andover and Exeter, both with very generous FA; waitlisted at Deerfield and St. Paul’s. Many theories as to why this outcome, all of which I’m sure are wrong.

My theories as to why that outcome, pckitty:

1) Accepted @ Andover: Because you rock!
2) Accepted @ Exeter: You’re a supernova!
3) Waitlisted @ Deerfield: You sneezed during your interview
4) Waitlisted @ SPS: Mocha chocolate chip

I’ll bet my house that I’m right on all counts. Someone prove me wrong!

So, D’yer Maker, are you a professional writer? Just curious. Clever style.

Yup. I’m forever on-line because it gets my wires crossed up enough to see things in a slightly twisted way. Hence the endless analogies…which you get in their raw form…sort of as my guinea pigs. My lengthy posts are also a byproduct of light editing. When something worthwhile hits me I’ll disappear to develop the thoughts…and then I’ll reappear here when my muse has left me. The vast amount of time I’ve spent here lately should give you an idea of the infrequency with which worthwhile thoughts careen through my cerebral cavity. Hence the need for FA… :>(

That explains it, I guess. It’s fun to read your posts.

mail arrived with nice waitlist letter from andover.

Yes, I just got rejected from Andover.

My D received acceptance from Andover Today!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Just goes to show you, however unlikely, sometimes the unprobable does happen. ( Not your daughter getting in, but her hearing good news at this late date)

Sorry Chaos, I know this has been a tough week for you.

Chaos, did you hear from Hotchkiss yet?

Aww chaos! I honestly didn’t think anyone had a better chance of getting into boarding school than you…well and prettyckitty of course…A good school with rolling admissions that you may want to look at is Cate in California…
