<p>I downloaded a “silent” ringtone onto my iPhone, and created a contact with the name “Spam” and the silent ringtone. I add the new spam calls to that contact. Yes, I still get them from other numbers, but at least that new “number” is blocked - I don’t answer since I don’t hear it ring, and they never leave messages!</p>
<p>Got the free Ipad text this morning at 5:18 am- not happy at all…One kid is abroad an 7 hours time difference, so I thought it might be him. Boy was I mad when I realized it was spam.</p>
<p>There is also Free Best Buy Gift Card texts that are flying around. <sigh> Wish the spammers would go and do honest work that contributes to our society instead of harassing folks.</sigh></p>
<p>Yeah for those of us on the taking care of elderly parents thread those midnight and early AM cell phone sounds are heart wrenching. Ugh.</p>
<p>I’ve had the same experience - after at least 10 years with the same cell phone number, I have been receiving numerous junk calls and texts. It’s very annoying. I can’t block computer-generated texts because this is the emergency system for S2’s school. We are also getting several junk calls a day on our landline. We’ve been on the do not call registry for years, and I’ve updated it several times just to be sure. It worked for a long time, but no more.</p>
