@baldwinhamilton Be aware that USC has different admissions selectivity depending on the school and program. It sounds like you may be talking/thinking about the USC BCA/Undergraduate Business Adminstration Program - which seems to be housed in Marshall but has a number of courses in the CA program. I do not know that much about or the stats for this specifc program, but it seems that the Cinema Arts undergrad is the most competitive program at USC, and Marshall is also known to be competitive. I would imagine this program is exceptionally competitive as well.
I would really do some research about the programs and what you want to accomplish in your undergrad career. USC allows a fair bit of flexibility, but since each school (Dornsife, CA, Marshall, Viterbi, Annenberg etc) seems to have different levels of selectivity (and, of course, value different skill sets.) your chances at each will be somewhat different.
I would spend a lot of time on the USC website. They have a lot of information, but there are so many programs at the school it can take a while to get a sense of where you would best be able to achieve your goals.
From what I have observed, USC responds to outstanding students, interesting applicants and those that show a very strong interest. My advice would be make sure you apply by the Dec. 1 “early” deadline. If you want to interview, sign up early (not sure if they have started taking appointments yet) as the slots fill up. And communicate with the school. They are very good at responding to legitimate questions etc.
Good luck!
