AP Biology 2011 Official Thread

YEEEEAH! TEST DONE!
holy ***. Much easier than CliffsNotes. If I counted my MC (7 IS THIS and 11 50/50s for a total of probable 18, some of those right and some of the ones in confident in actually wrong, still about 18 wrong) right and my FRQs right (10,10,10,7), then I got 83.2% or something like THAT and that’s a pretty high five! Even if I’m off by 10%, still a five…WOO. much easier than CliffsNotes by FAR.

Only thing that tripped me up for the FRQs was the Water Potential one…still managed to get 6-7 pts on it.

WOO! 3 down, one more to go!! Gov tomorrow and I’m done til US Hist subject test in JUNE. then I can prepare for my Jnr year. WOO!

That makes three probable fives. Unless I’m completely off. Which I could be. RAAARGH happy noW weeeee not gonna speculate bout anything cause I couldn’t change it anyway.

Ha, just came back from the exam.

I did well on everything except the free response. I got so unbelievably ridiculous to the point that for the advantages of asexual reproduction, I said: “One advantage of asexual reproduction is that less energy is required. A lot of energy is required in sexual reproduction - I would know.” I’m expecting a 2 pretty much.

CalvinTBOD - I’m sure you did fine. What you said is better than my friend’s graphic novel interpretations of all her FRQs.

I was extremely happy about the FRQ, however, I think the only one i got wrong was on the intracellular and extracellular digestion, but I was pretty suprised on the difficulty of the exam. I figured it would have been a lot harder.

Edit: do bundle sheath cells have any impact on amount of water lost via transpiration?

haha I made a graphic novel too!

my diagram of golgi looks like a cartoon… :</p>

SO EASY!! The MC was definetly around 80% and essays at least 7s on all. WOW. I thought it would be very hard. My teacher said to aim for 40-60% on the mc for a 5 lol

Multiple choice was not bad at all. That water potential frq tripped me up a bit though.
Hopefully b.s.ing that last part of that question will get me some points.

All of it was crazy easy

I’m positive I made at least a 4, and I’m hoping (praying!) that I made a 5.

MC went pretty well. I’m probably looking at around an 80-90ish.
FRQ wasn’t too bad; I should probably make at least straight 5s on all of them.

The only question now is how the curve will be. I think it will be harsh, but then again, the relatively easy MC could offset the FRQ, which were as difficult as usual, if you ask me.

Thoughts?

Hew! I was really scared about the exam, but much easier than I thought! I enjoyed the FRQs except the last one about water potential. This year’s exam is out of many people’s prediction about like increasing importance of Plant section and Classification section.

The kids came out of my class flabbergasted as to how easy the exam was. I came out of my class flabbergasted as to how harsh the grading curve is going to be :P

Well the second and third FRQ I think I did great. The first question I said “If you’re nice you’ll give me points for this essay (or lack thereof). I’ll draw a picture of a cat to nicen up your mood.” And the fourth question was just a bunch of cats. :P

Calvin, I feel you. I think I screwed up in the AP exam… it’s gonna be a really nervewrecking 2 months for me… I feel like the MC was easy but I think I still failed it. And as for the FRQ’s, I probably bombed those too. I answered one part on the 2nd question, and I skipped a little on the rest. I didn’t get that the bundle sheath cells effect transpiration… I definitely got a 2.

I seriously hope I still get a 4… because I thought I had done okay, but if everyone did well…

However, I’m sure it’s okay if you didn’t do so well on one of the essays. I thought frq 1 was pretty easy (free points essentially for the last part, which was covered 4 times in honors bio), and know I did worse on the others (namely 2 and 4). I tried. The fact that I was writing down somewhat random vocab probably wasn’t the best idea…

Easy. Way easier than any practice test. FRQ was a joke. I even called the last one at break after Multiple choice.

The curve’s gonna suck something awful, but definitely a really easy test. I anticipate a 5.

I started studying Cliffs yesterday at 8 PM (like I literally JUST opened the book for the FIRST time). Got through a couple chapters by 1 AM. Went to sleep at that point. Never took the AP Course. Expected to fail miserably. BUT it still wasn’t that bad. FRQs weren’t perfect but I’m hoping for atleast a 4. If I get a 5, I will surely be the happiest person in the universe  Got a 5 on Sparknotes AP Biology Practice Exam btw… but that’s not the best indicator ;)

That was much easier than expected, still expecting to get a 4/3 though because I learned practically nothing this year
MC- Easier than I thought it would be
FRQ 1- One of the easiest FRQs I have ever seen
FRQ 2- Ok, my worst of the 4
FRQ 3- One of the easiest FRQs I have ever seen
FRQ 4- Solvable, but messed up on the last part with the formulas.
Still, the curve might change drastically due to this…

To all of you guys who were here last night - I stayed up until 2:13 for nothing! That test was so easy, and had no content whatsoever. But, I must say that I probably didn’t do so hot on the FRQs - they weren’t hard, I just didn’t really pay too much attention to some of those things when I was studying

****! I didn’t think about the curve!!! it’s going to be terrible! Noooooo!
