ok, i am a senior and i took AP Calc BC last year and am now taking Calc 3 at a college. Also, i got a 5 on the AP test. My advice to you is this: 1)practice, practice, practice…do the homework, check your answers, ask questions if you need to, but make sure you know how to comfortably do the practice problems. 2) try to actually understand the material; plugging and chugging will only get you so far. Try not to just memorize equations and then plug the numbers in, instead try to actually understand what is happening with those numbers and what the equation/integral/derivative is doing/saying. this may not be completely necessary in AP, but it’s necessary once you get to college-level and you won’t regret the extra time spent. i wish i had spent more time on that kind of stuff…

I definitely wont let this destory my confidence in math or my hopes of becoming a engineer (computer engineer). I am going to put alot more energy into learning the material so I can raise my grade and perform well on these tests. I really wanted to know if other people at this forum that are good at math find Calculus hard, or is it just me.

My answer: yes, [mostly/especially] when I was first exposed to it.

I absolutely love math, and my AP Calc class is definitely difficult. I’m lucky because I have an excellent teacher, but his tests are very hard and many straight A students have Cs in that class (I study a LOT and got a 92 last MP)
