***AP Chemistry (2016-2017)***

Multiple choice was easy except mathy questions, but FRQ was the complete opposite of that, everything is hard except mathy questions lol.

The MC was decently easy but the FRQ?!?!?! So many concepts and barely any math. It was on a different level than previous years. All of the previous year FRQ was just applying the concepts taught. This was having the ability to apply concepts at a different level, and were not straightforward at all. College Board are such dicks when it comes to AP Chem.

Which form did everyone have, or are we not allowed to “reveal” the form letter?

Most students get form O which stands for Operational. It’s the main form. Some students will, however, receive an alternate version. Having multiple versions helps calibrate the test statistically.

Ah! I see! Thank you for clarifying @hypnotoad107
That’s the form I got!

oh my god. Somebody please kill me. Before the exam, I came in thinking, “yeah I can definitely get a 3, but I want a 5, and I hope I don’t get a 4.” I confident from all my mock exams which have been mid 5’s and one 4… BUT SCREW THAT EXAM. THE MULTIPLE CHOICE HAD A LOT OF DECIMALS INVOLVED, WHICH COMPLETELY THREW ME OFF. OTHER THAN THAT, I FEEL OK. I DIDNT GET TO BUBBLE ONE IN THOUGH BECAUSE OF THE TIME… AND I SPED THROUGH THE QUESTIONS AND SO ID JUST PUT A MARK BY IF I KINDA TOOK MY CHANCES. BUT AT THE END, I HAD MARKED LIKE 16 QUESTIONS. SO I GOT ALMOST NO TIME TO GO BACK AND VERIFY. I feel like I got like 30 multiple choice but some might be field questions so IDK. And during the break I told myself that I just needed to ace the FRQ’s, which I usually do well on. BUT THEN I SAW #3 AND ALMOST EVERYTHING WAS ON BUFFERS-- I LEFT LOTS OF IT BLANK. JUST KILL MEE

smh and i still have ap lang and ush left… killlll me

Same @kyl
Lang should’ve been first and then Chem last

Can we all agree that this year’s frq curve will be totally out of sync with the previous years?

@ibanker38 I completely agree. For practice, my class did previous frqs. I averaged about 7/10 for the long answers and 4/4 for the short. For this exam, I’d be lucky if I got 5/10 for the long answers. There is such a big disconnect I feel.

rip us… Yeah FRQ was hella hard compared to practice tests/previous years…

I thought the MC was kinda easier, but the FRQs destroyed me

i hope the cutoff would be low this year, this ruined my confidence for my other AP exams

MC was okay; there were a couple I wasn’t sure on. FRQs were okay as well, except one of the long ones that threw me a little. Hopefully the curve will be good.

@Dewzeph Same. The 2016 FRQ was waaay easier. Some of my classmates got >90% on that one. Now we’re all hoping for just 60%

what form will be posted on the college board website?

Form O

what did form E and form Q stand for?

Form E here. The MC was pretty easy(I think it was easier than most years),
and the short FRQ’s were simple enough. Two of the long FRQ’s were just
stupidly difficult. When I saw one of them, I nearly had a stroke.

Honestly, I don’t think the curve is going to be very good. Last year, their
FRQ’s were pretty difficult and the MC was really easy, yet the minimum
score for a 5 was 79, so this year will probably be pretty similar.

@thestudent248 that was the international exam

I thought the MC were harder than the FRQ. The FRQ were pretty easy compared to practice tests, and these were a lot more conceptual than just math, so they were pretty easy.
