AP Scholar Question

I scored:
US History: 4
Art History: 2
Eng Lit/Comp: 3
European Hist: 4

Which is an average of 3.25. The AP Scholar award states:

“Granted to students who receive grades of 3 or higher on three or more exams”

I would qualify for that, right? If so how do I receive the award?

Also, the AP Scholar with Honor states:

“Granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more exams”

So, to qualify for this one I’ll have to take another AP exam and score a 4/5 to get this?

yes, to both of your queries!! you got ap scholar, another 4/5 will get you honor…

you’ll get a certificate from the collegeboard sometime in september!!

Thank you very much, first person in my school to ever get an AP award.

yeah no problem!!

actually, all you need is a 3 on your next test, and you’ll get the HONOR award :)

If he gets a 3, his average AP score will go below 3.25, so he needs a 4/5 for Honor.

^3.25 is all you need for AP Scholar with Honor ;)

That’s what I’m saying. If he gets a 3 on his next exam, his grades will be:

US History: 4
Art History: 2
Eng Lit/Comp: 3
European Hist: 4
Next exam: 3

The average of which is 3.2, below 3.25. Thus he needs a 4/5 on the next exam for Honor.

^oh, I misunderstood you…SORRY :)

Sorry to hijack your thread, but does the Calc AB subscore count as another exam?

I took 10 APs (2 fives, 5 fours, and 3 threes), but I also got a 5 on the AB subscore. Am I still qualified to be a National AP Scholar?

AB subscore doesn’t count.

(that’d be pretty cheap, admit it.)
EDIT: Though you are qualified.

It says I need an average of 4 and at least a 4 on 8 of my exams. I only got 7 scores of 4+ and my average is 3.9.

In that case,I guess you just missed it…Sorry :frowning:
You still did EPIC though, so good job, and have fun at Brown :)

How can you get an AP Scholar with Honors? I got all 4’s on my AP test ( i only took 3). Am i qualified?

ah, sorry sungchul. I thought you had an equal amount of 3 and 5. :[

sorry.

To the OP, congratulations on being the first person in your school to get the AP Scholar award. You are in good position to be the first one to get the AP Scholar with Honor award too. At some point you will get a recognition letter and certificate from the CollegeBoard. The certificate doesn’t look half-bad, actually pretty cool :)

Oh well. :(

I’m going to try this re-score thing on Spanish. Methinks I was slighted. Wish me luck!

Dont you need 8 or more APs?

I’ve taken 5 AP tests, and gotten 5, 4, 5, 5, and 4. Would this be AP Scholar with Distinction? Also, does anyone know how this type of award is evaluated by college admission officers?

redsoxgirl: yeah, that would be AP Scholar with Distinction. (3 or higher on 5 or more exams, with an avg of at least 3.5). Congrats. with just 3 more exams, and hopefully you don’t get lower than a 4 in any of those 3, you are looking at the National AP Scholar award. (4 or higher in 8 or more exams, and an avg of at least 4 on all). Good luck redsoxgirl (but not to your team, though  )

Thanks chubeebo! Even if ur not a red sox fan (lol)
