2 in biology but 740 on SAT II molecular… and I was really confident about how I did on the AP…should I rescore? what could have happened?

I would rescore it.

“2 in biology but 740 on SAT II molecular… and I was really confident about how I did on the AP…should I rescore? what could have happened?”

Well what happens is that the Ap scores are ranges. Which means if you are only one point from the 3 range you still get a 2. That’s the reason they don’t give you an actual raw score (like a 60 or whatever… just 2s or 5s), just a number. So re scoring it could mean that you might get an extra (or a couple extra points) which could be enough to bump you up to a 3 or it won’t help at all (because you are too far from the 3)… it’s all about how lucky you are.

lol whoaness i couldn’t have even gotten a 2. I took several practice tests and did really well. CB messed up, i think.

Last year:

Chem - 4
Spanish Lang - 4
Psych - 4
English Lang - 4

This year:

Art History - 1 (lmao)
Bio - 3
Gov. - 3
English Lit - 4
Calc AB - 5

Happy overall, and I never cared for Art History. The only ones I did extra studying for (as opposed to just paying attention the entire year) were Chem and… Gov. :(

How do you “rescore” as some of you are saying?

woot!

AP Chem: 4
AP Gov: 5
AP French: unavailable

11th grade:

APUSH - 5

12th grade:

Spanish Language - 5

(I’m so excited-I seriously feared that I would get a 2 or something Not bad, for a non-native speaker… Now for my college to give me credit-can’t wait…)

I just got my score it says 1 but I was expecting a 4 (What i got on all the practices and had a 91 average in the class) should I rescore?

Calc BC: 5
US Hist: 5
English Lang: 5
French Lang: 5
Physics C Mech: 5
Physics C E&M: 5

The history was the most worrisome for me.

11th grade (rising senior), took none before.

Calc BC: 5
Physics C (mech): 5
Spanish Lang: 5
Comparative Govt/Pol: 5
English Lit: 4

yay for college credit!!!

someone please tell me their secret of studying for these. i almost died with school and having to study for just 2 AP’s.
and when did you guys start? i started studying a month and a half before.

without further delay:
Chem: 4
USH: 4

I’m really happy with myself. I have one more year to suffer through:

Physics
BC Calc
Bio

US: 5
Enviro: 5
English Language: 4
Psych: 4
Music Theory: 2

I was the most disappointed with my 4 in psych :(

Also the only one I studied for at all was US history, and I just looked at flash cards for a little bit the week before.

I would rescore dssp, they could have only counted one section.

yeah, i hate to say it nominal, but my “secret” is really not studying… (i mean, i was a senior last year so it was even MORE so no studying than usual, lol, but still)
i have no idea how i pulled 5s in physics and calc, considering the last half of the year was spent getting our teachers to let us out of class :)

I’d say the secret is…

for the harder tests… (all of which you seem to be taking)
get a great prep book (Barron’s is great for Bio) and read it before you take the test, and do the little quizzes.

have a good source of information. if you can’t count on your teacher for information, then go to someone you know to clear up anything you have difficulty understanding. (do your parents have professor friends?)

start early. just take good notes all year, don’t forget things right after you learn them. i suggest making unit study sheets for more difficult subjects.

Since I’ve only taken AP Bio before, my suggestions are :
-definitely read as much as you can on subjects your teacher doesn’t cover
-make study sheets, do unit objectives if your teacher gives them to you
-keep on top of your work, especially labs–> there’s a lot of sources on the internet about how labs are supposed to go, so you have no reason to get less than 100% on your labs
-don’t stress about the essays, write as much as you can, and just try and hit on the points.
-try to cover themes of biology, like structure and its relation to function- if you think about things in terms of how they all relate to each other, you’ll be better off
-don’t crap out when it gets boring (which it will, when you start to learn about phylums)
-have fun with the subject matter! the more you like it, the more you remember it (think of fun ways to memorize too).

I echo helloworld, nominal. I took classes comparable to the AP ones (but not exactly, because my school doesn’t offer them). I just did the coursework. I speak French fluently, so I didn’t study outside of the classroom for that one (nor did we do any prep in class). We did a little in Calc/Physics, but those are my strong subjects so I didn’t study at all outside of the classroom. English I took cold because the class is not at all AP Language (I can’t even understand how such a class would work) and our teachers encouraged it. Our school emphasizes writing, so over 75% of the kids get 5s on that exam. History was a bit tricky. Our history class was excellent, so I actually knew most of the stuff. I was planning to study a lot, but that fell through. I crammed the night before and got to like 1850, then just stopped abruptly at that point (and hoped that class would be prep enough). So on the Vietnam essay, I had very little outside information at my disposal.

arghh
BC Calc - 5
USH - 3 (i was expecting a 5… cus i got a’s in class and our teacher said that if you got over a b+ in class, she guarantees us a 4/5… do you think its worth retaking this? i’m studying for the ush sat ii right now…)

@sak09 - you can get your exam rescored by filling out the form that should be on the opposite side of the paper telling you your scores. It costs $25, and what they do is go over your MC part by hand instead of the computer scoring it. People do this if… they got like a 1-3 and really expected like a 4 or 5, and I mean REALLY expected it. Sometimes there are just mistakes grading it, but sometimes CollegeBoard loses a whole part of the exam so you’re kind of only getting half the grade.

US Gov-5
Macro Econ- 5
Bio- 5
Calc AB- 4
Stats-4
