<p>ap studio art is, in my opinion, the hardest ap there is. not many people get 5’s… if you check the grade distribution</p>
<p>there is so much work that goes into creating a portfolio of ~28 pieces of art. you can’t just take the class and expect to automatically get a 5 if you work hard; you must also have talent and years of experience</p>
<p>in addition, it’s very costly… mats cost a bunch if you don’t cut them yourself, it cost me $100 to get slides made, ap fee by itself is around $90… etc etc </p>
<p>i took it this year, and if you procrastinate like i did, the few weeks before the day portfolios are due will be utter hell. </p>
<p>the essay mentioned by a previous post is not really an essay, just a few paragraphs stating your intent</p>
<p>on a lighter note, i took the class and believe i improved ENORMOUSLY at drawing and painting… you discover things by yourself and you will get better.</p>
