i decided not to write any of the 3 required essays and went to sleep…

I feel bad for anyone who didn’t choose 2 and 5 on the essays.

Risky - you might not even get a 4.

I think I got a 3 or 4 on this AP exam. I didn’t study one bit, so I don’t care too much.

Sorry for the bump - I was just looking over this.

I chose 3 and 5 for the essays (rise of republicans and WWII). TimTid21 - what was wrong with #3? The rise of the Republican party was extremely easy IMO. I forget exactly what I wrote, but I definitely mentioned the compromise of 1850, kansas-nebraska act, wilmot proviso, etc.

what was wrong with that question? why did everyone do #2?

@cavsfan-I also did 3, although I didn’t mention Compromise of 1850 or Kansas-Nebraska (both out of the time period IIRC), but I talked about the downfall of the Whigs, the influx of third parties, a little bit of Wilmot Proviso, and how all the smaller third parties effectively merged together to form the Republican party when the issue of slavery in the territories came up (which leads into Co1850 and Kansas-Nebraska)

Quote from the college board website’s listing of the FRQ’s:

“3. Analyze the social, political, and economic forces of the 1840s and early 1850s that led
to the emergence of the Republican Party.”

So I would think that the compromise of 1850 and kansas-nebraska act would apply. i also do recall discussing the combination of parties to form the republicans.

i’m just glad other people actually did this prompt. it was the same scenario at my school; i don’t think i could find one person who actually did #3!
