Horizontal Integration: The infamous John D. Rockefeller annihilated competition by taking over the all of the companies (the oil companies), and formed them into one single conglomerate–Standard Oil.

Vertical Integration: Andrew Carnegie, though the author of the “Gospel of Wealth” and an advocate of philantropy, he took control of his company, seeing to it that he controlled the raw materials used and all of the programs and businesses involved in making the finished product.

1.What mishap occurred as a result of “Reagoeconomics?”
2.What effect did the glorious revolution have on the colonies?

inflation…poverty…unemployment…

strengthened british rule on the colonies…king James established the Dominion of NEw England to have greater control over the colonies.

What was the Taft-Hartley Act

What was the Billion Dollar Congress and what did it do?

Glorious Revolution drove colonial society toward rebellion. The “Glorious Revolution in New England” occurred following the bloodless coup in Europe, as an imitation, in which colonists drove Stephen Andros, the newly appointed governor of the Dominion of New England (a royal colony established from a conglomeration of CT, NH, MA, VT, RI, and I bleieve New York and New Jersey as well) through the streets of Boston and reestablishing power for the origianl colonial governments. Other similar revolutions took place when King James II put several colonies under royal control to maintain order and enforce the Navigation Acts. Leisler’s Rebellion in New York was one of them. lesiler was executed for hesitating to turn power over to the NY legislature.

Taft-Hartley Act was passed after the Second World War. Pretty much a result of the second red scare. It was against labor unions. There couldn’t be an closed shops(the one that you have to be in the union to work) anymore, and the union leaders had to take oath that they weren’t related to any communists.
My question
list the main incidents or legislations for the first and second Red Scare

umm…first red scare occurred during the twenties:
*Sacco and Vanzetti trial in which, with a weak prosecution, two individuals were executed for murder mainly because they were Italian immigrant anarchists
*Admiral (don’t know first name) Palmer led the mass arrest of hundreds of suspected communists and anarchists.
*a few hundred suspected communists were deported on the Buford otherwise known as the “Soviet Ark” to Russia

Second Red Scare is McCarthyism right? I barely went over that…

My brain is melting…I’ll think of a question in a bit…

The Atlantic Charter was similar to The Fourteen Points because it outlined goals for the end of the war (political goals, that is). I think it also called for the establishment of an international peacekeeping organization (NATO), which was similar to the League of Nations.

I’m not sure specifically how it was different. Can someone else answer that?

The Potsdam Agreement, or the Potsdam Proclamation, was an agreement on policy for the occupation and reconstruction of Germany and other nations after fighting in the European Theatre of World War II had ended with the German surrender of May 8, 1945. It was drafted and adopted by the major victorious powers, the USSR, USA, France and UK, at the Potsdam Conference between July 17 and August 2, 1945.

The participants were the top leaders of those three states, Josef Stalin, Harry Truman, Winston Churchill, and the ministers of foreign affairs of those states. After Churchill lost the general election and resigned, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, Clement Attlee, joined.

In a second document adopted at the conference, the Potsdam Declaration, the United States and its allies also warned Japan to surrender or face complete destruction.

The Suez Canal Crisis occurred when Britain, France, and Israel joined forces against Egypt in 1956 to gain trading rights and protect shipping rights in the Suez Canal.
