Hey Guys,

In my application, as I hadn’t received my December grades, nor predicted grades, under additional information I stated that I knew that my grades would improve sufficiently and that I would send them my grades after November.

However, as I heard that UC’s were negative towards sending additional info, I ended up not sending them in January (they were significantly better than my previous grades).

Now, I was accepted into UCSD, without sending any additional information and this leaves me thinking that I really do have a shot for UCLA if only they would see that improvement.

Do you think I’ll have any luck in this or am I too late?

I really hate myself for not contacting them directly earlier, or simply sending regardless of what I read, but here I am with a rejection :/

EDIT: Might be worth mentioning that I’m in the last year of my IB Diploma, were grades really improve throughout the two years as you practice on taking the same exams that you will finally have in May of the last year. I went up from 29 -> 37 on my December grades.

" High grades received in the senior year, recently acquired awards, or an increase in activities are not a basis for the reversal of a decision."

As drewapicture mentioned, better grades is not a ground for appeal. It has to be family/medical problems that affected and caused you to not reach your academic best that you DID NOT mention in your application already. It’s not worth it, theres like a 3% chance.

@calliet9 3% is good enough for me. Though, the problem is exactly that this wasn’t mentioned in the application, yet highly relevant.

On another note, is the appeal simply through an online form, or is there some sort of payment, etc., does anyone know?

If you decide to appeal, you are going to have to write a letter explaining why you think you deserve to have that second review. They haven’t opened up the Appeal Portal yet, but it will tell you what to do. You might need teacher recs as well, again, depending on what the portal says this year. Can you look at my thread and see if I have a standing to appeal? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ucla-2017/1477888-should-i-appeal-ucla.html
